Course Objectives/Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course, students should have mastery of the following concepts: 1) elementary metric space topology, with special emphasis on euclidean spaces 2) basic properties of Lebesgue measure and the Lebesgue integral; 3) general measure and integration theory in an abstract measure space.

Homework: A typical homework assignment will consist of a few of the assigned problems on each area when content is introduced. I will regularly collect two homework exercises on Wednesday at the beginning of class. No later homework will be accepted. Students are responsible for the solution of homework problems.  It is allowed to discuss homework problems with others in class.
